We participated in the dedication of a new stake center in Lexington, Kentucky. Ezra Taft Benson, President of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles, dedicated the stake center and since David was one of the Bishops whose ward would meet in the building, he got to speak at the dedication.

Kathy was editor of the Lexington Third Ward newsletter,
"The Third Word," printed on a mimeograph machine.

Time Capsule 1976-1989

In 1976 David and Kathy decided to put a box in the closet to contain mementos from that year. On New Year's Eve, they compiled a time capsule of that year and sealed up the box. They did this each year, and after awhile it became a New Year's Eve tradition to put together a new time capsule, and to open the box that was five years old to see what was important in our lives five years ago.

Now, in 2012, Kathy is scanning the time capsules from each year to put in a blog, and then to print into a book for our family reunion. We hope our grandchildren will enjoy taking a little peek back in time to when their parents were little.

With love,
Mom and Dad, Kathy and David, Nana and PaPaw
